Forget the tablecloth! With a little creativity, you can have an accent table that you'll want to show off.

- Decoupage it! Plain wooden tabletops make a great canvas for working with decoupage. An easy technique that works well on wood, decoupage is the art of decorating surfaces with pieces of paper such as gift wrap, tissue paper, or magazine clippings. For a table in a prominent location, consider using special family photos in lieu of paper. After selecting paper for your project, head to your local craft retailer for a bottle of Mod Podge. Multi-purpose Mod Podge works as not only a sealer, but glue and finisher as well.
For a child's room, decoupage is especially great, because you can choose pictures that mean something to your child. Add fun stickers to the design, and let your child help choose the materials and put together the project.
